The middle and high school curriculum uses the foundational skills learned in elementary school to deepen students' understanding of complex subjects and foster critical thinking abilities. Each day starts with a Bible class where students learn memory verses, sing hymns, and use the Bible stories to learn and apply Biblical values to their lives. The students learn core concepts through a Biblical worldview in mathematics, English, history, and science. The teachers present the material in engaging and understandable ways that encourage active participation from each student. A key component of the curriculum is a spiral review which allows students to continuously revisit, practice, and solidify their understanding of previously learned concepts, ensuring their mastery over the subject matter.
NCS uses the Abeka curriculum. Abeka is the premier curriculum for Christian schools and produces outstanding results in America and around the world. It is known for its strong intensive phonics program and traditional approach to math. It is also known for teaching cursive writing in kindergarten.
To provide accurate communication between educators and parents and students concerning the students' academic progress, our online grading system allows for timely updates and comprehensive overviews of all assignments, assessments, and projects. The system also provides reports for grades, behavior, financial statements, and other pertinent information.
